Facts & Myths About Jesus & The Bible.

What is True Christianity?

29/10/18

This flesh state we find ourselves in, ‘doing time in the thick of it’ if you like, is a fallen one. We're separated from God, the Eternal Creator.

To return to the Kingdom of God we must follow God’s decree of knowing what justice is, being merciful and humble.

The following represents a simplified overview of how a Christian should think and behave.

1 To Believe in Jesus’ name as the only begotten Son of God.
2 Gentleness of character.
3 Forgiveness; towards they who might also forgive.
4 To have childlike trust in Jesus. (Amongst other things this may mean none threatening)
5 To love one another.
6 Death to self. (The death to self principal might best be thought of by saying, ‘the piece on a chess board does not complain when moved.’ Also this principal of death to ones self would include putting others first; putting off our own self interest in the greater interest of others)
7 Repentance of sins. (Turning a new leaf)
8 Knowing true justice, mercy and humbleness. (ref; old testament Laws of God)
9 Submit to God, remove all fight, and trust in Jesus.
10 Do not tolerate any form of idolatry or heresy. (These days this must certainly include the degeneracy in films and on TV)

In our weakness maintaining faith is to the glory of God. 2nd Corinthians 12 9. These are the practical standards we must engage with if escaping the bondage of this earthly prison is important to us. These might even be the minimum requirements for salvation.

The difference between mainstream and true Christianity is like the difference between lift and controlled flight. We don't choose Jesus; it is the other way around - as defined in Ch 2 V 8 of the book of Ephesians. For it is by grace that you are saved through faith; not of your doing; it is the gift of God: Also John Ch 15 V 16.

Our very understanding of what it is to be a true Christian is a gift, and to receive that gift goodness, kindness and fairness must be within us.

       Queen Elizabeth I was quoted as having said;
There is only one faith and one Jesus Christ,
the rest is a dispute about trifles.

Hebrews Ch 11 V 3 - For it is through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen came to be from those which are not seen.
